Symposium Proposal Form
Are you interested in helping to develop the scientific programme for the 33rd European Congress on Obesity?
The Programme Organising Committee welcomes suggestions for full symposia, so please liaise with colleagues and submit your symposium suggestion under one of the four programme tracks:
- Basic and Translational Science
- Behavioural Science and Public Health
- Childhood and Adolescent Obesity
- Obesity Management and Intervention
Please utilise this form to submit ideas for consideration. Each Symposium slot is 1.5h long and the format can run to suit your topic. You should aim to cover a hot topic and speakers should come from a variety of countries. When submitting your proposal, please list all speakers (name and country) and their individual presentation titles. Please also confirm the name of the chairperson (name and country).
Please ensure that you refer to the EASO Person First Language Guide when preparing your submission/related abstracts AND developing your presentation. Please note that abstracts that do not use Person First Language will be rejected.
Please submit your suggestion using the form below. The deadline for receipt of suggestions is Sunday, 11 January 2026. Late submissions will not be considered. All speakers nominated in the suggested symposia should also submit an abstract by 11 January 2026. When submitting an abstract for suggested symposia, please select 'Symposium suggestion' as the presentation type. Additionally, when completing the form, please ensure that you list the abstract reference numbers of all session presenters. If the suggestion is not accepted as a full symposium, individual abstracts will be considered for abstract and poster presentation.
Please note that suggested symposia are different to the invited part of the programme. Speakers in accepted symposia must register for the congress and arrange their own travel/accommodation. Speakers identified as participants in proposed symposia should submit an abstract through the submission system by 11 January 2026.
Please clearly mention on the abstract submission form that the abstract is related to a symposium proposal (also mention the name of the proposed symposium), and also indicate whether the abstract can/cannot be presented in case the symposium proposal would not be accepted.
